You can certainly strive for perfection – or try to be perfect – during your training and practice sessions. However, one important mindset for success is to accept that you can’t be perfect when you play sports. You are human and will make mistakes. Even the best athletes in the world mess up or goof up from time to time.
Let go of mistakes quickly. Play to play great today, which means get the job done, even if your game looks and feels imperfect or ugly. We call this “winning ugly.” Learn from your mistakes instead of beating yourself up or being upset with yourself about your mistakes.
