Do you feel like you go to sleep or zone-out during competition? Athletes who have experienced this don’t vividly remember all the choices they made during the game because their mind is traveling elsewhere. Going to sleep happens when you don’t feel challenged or don’t have a clear game plan for your performance.
You should set process goals to help you focus better. Small goals will help you focus better by helping you feel challenged. Also, you need to commit to your game and leave any distractions at home for the time being. You can’t change what’s happening at work or home, so you should focus on your sport.
