Many players maintain negative inner chatter. They have doubts at the least opportune times. Negative inner chatter happens when a player is engaging in doubt or negative thinking. Your players’ negative inner chatter cannot be allowed to run unchecked. What do your players say to themselves after making a mistake? Can they let go of the mistake or do they allow their negative inner chatter to destroy their confidence?
In baseball for example, a player can fail 7 out of 10 times at the plate and STILL be a successful hitter. If your players are human, they will make mistakes, but how your players react immediately after mistakes can either boost or destroy their confidence. They must learn how to keep their doubt in check.
